Growing up on the south side of Chicago as a child, I did not realise nor understand how much you internalise and how much of everyone’s opinions you take on, like a sponge, as you’re growing into yourself, especially other people’s insecurities and negative traits. I had my family and friends' opinions, and social media expectations in my head and that’s all I ever heard so I never understood what having and living by my own thoughts and ambitions were. Traveling has helped me see things from a different perspective because I found who I am, what I truly like, and seeing what the world has to offer me in all areas of my life.
